  • October 2010-September 2016: research associate at the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena with responsability for the Statehood research area
  • 200­7-2010: coordinator of the Civil War research area at the "Cultural Foundations of Integration" Center of Excellence at the University of Konstanz
  • May 2006-October 2007: research fellow at the Administrative Department (Stabstelle) for Social Planning and Social Reporting in Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg
  • 2003-2006: completed doctorate at Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg with a dissertation on: The Serbian state model and regional self-government in Sarajevo and Zagreb 1918-1929 (in German)
  • 1998-2002: completed a master´s degree in modern and Eastern European history, political science, and Slavic languages and literature at the University of Freiburg
