Professor Philipp Ther has been honoured with the Wittgenstein Award

We are pleased to announce that Philipp Ther, Professor of History of Central and Eastern Europe at the University of Vienna, has been honoured with the Wittgenstein Award by the Austrian Science Fund. The prize is an endowment of 1.5 million euro and is equivalent to the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz Prize of the German Research Foundation. Prof. Dr. Włodzimierz Borodziej was officially sworn into the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences on 11 June 2016. Borodziej, who is Co-Director of the Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena - 'Eastern Europe in the Twentieth Century: Comparative Historical Experience' at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and Professor of History at the University of Warsaw, was nominated to membership in the Humanities Class.
